Wildflecken Heroes began in May 2006 as a personal website created by myself as a way to display items from my own circle of friends from A. Co. 54th Engineer Battalion during the 1972-1975 time period.
As more and more people learned about the website, more and more pictures and information was added. Eventually I decided to expand the website to the entire battalion and the public domain and registered the website that you see today as WildfleckenHeroes in August 2007.
The purpose of the website is to welcome all members of the 54th Combat Engineer Battalion who served their time at the Wildflecken Training Area, Wildflecken Germany, regardless of rank, or entitlement or time period.
It is my desire to create a large database of information regarding "The Hill", the people who served there and their families.
Wildflecken means something different to everyone who was there. Whatever it means to you, I welcome you and hope that you enjoy the memories of that place and that time that you were there.
